Dragonfly

Yesterday I saw a dragonfly. He had landed on a leaf by where I stood. He was beautiful, and I couldn't resist the urge to rest my finger on the leaf in front of him to see what he would do. After a few seconds he put a little foot on my finger, as if testing me. Shortly after the next one joined it, and before I knew it he was entirely perched on my finger. I gazed at him with a sense of awe filled wonder, absorbing the beauty of this wondrous creature for the entire time he stayed. Yesterday, I held a dragonfly, and it's something I'll never forget.
